Notice to Members of Proposed Irrigation (FI) Rate Changes 
& FI Load Control Rider

This notice is being issued pursuant to the Corporations & Associations Article of the 2020 Maryland Code, §5-638(B).  At its meeting on January 19, 2022, the Board of Directors of Choptank Electric Cooperative will vote on the adoption of a revised Irrigation (FI) rate, as well as a new FI Load Control Rider, which impact charges to Cooperative members.  The full text of the proposed tariffs are available on the Rates page of the Cooperative website at https://choptankelectric.coop/rates under “Proposed Tariff Changes.”

Pursuant to MD Corp & Assn Code §5-638(B) (2020) and the Cooperative’s policies, members have the opportunity to comment on the proposed changes and to attend the portion of the meeting in which the Board of Directors will vote on the proposed changes.  

  • Comments shall be submitted in writing to the General Counsel (1) via email at rates@choptankelectric.coop or (2) by mail at P.O. Box 430, Denton, MD 21629.  Comments must be submitted by January 10, 2022.
  • Any member wishing to attend the Board meeting shall, by January 10, 2022, contact the CEO’s Administrative Assistant at 1-877-892-0001 (ext. 8551) to make arrangements to attend.

At its meeting on January 19, 2022, the Board of Directors plans to vote on the adoption of a revised Irrigation (FI) rate. The full text of the proposed tariff will be available in mid-December on the Rates page of the Cooperative website at https://choptankelectric.coop/rates under “Proposed Tariff Changes.”

Members will have the opportunity to comment on the proposed changes and to attend the portion of the meeting in which the Board votes on the proposed changes.
